EHLA

hey. this week we are teaching the kids about the moon and the different phases it has. We also are teaching them about the solar system. By the time we leave the kids should have a good idea about the planets. Like how far the planets are away from one another, how many planets there are, and make sure they understand that pluto is not a plant and its a dwarf planet because it was too small to be labled as a planet. i think the best activity they did was the space probes. we let them build there own robot to go visit any planet they want execpt earth. they made there space probes out of recycled items, and you can tell that they enjoy building there own space probees. So far the kids are having fun and is understanding the information we are teaching them. I think they enjoy comming to our class everyday. They are excited and always asking what they are going to be doing next time they come.

I'm glad you joined us even though it was halfway through the summer! For one thing, you helped balance out our group - both age and gender-wise. It's good having "old" teens who I know I can count on. GREAT job jumping in with the icebreaker when we finished teaching early. In fact, you have done a really good job just coming in and rolling with it - even though you didn't have the prep week the others in our group had for the curriculum at our new site. And by the time you read this you wil be 18 so I hope you had a great birthday and didn't get into TOO much trouble! :-)
