Right arounnd about 12 o'clock the learning lab got a little out of control. Mesa, the HEad SUpervisor(haha felixlol), took it upon herself to confront us learning places teens of our unproffesional behavior. to make a long story short---------we ended up having an interesting discussion where we brainstormed, reflected, dicussed etc ways to better conduct our LP work. This discussion was beneficial. Both the supervisors and teens appropriately expressed thier greivances but also admitted to their mistakes.---------------the end

Submitted by Colin001 on Sat, 11/03/2007 - 12:20pm. Learning PlacesToday's icebreaker was supposed to enhance our teamwork, cooperation, will to compromise etc . . . Our supervisors gave us small cards with sign-language hand signals and brail. They also gave us a sentence ,written in brail, that we had to translate into written language. Honestly, I dont think this was the best icebreaker in the world lol. We didnt have enough info to work with.
b ut i guess it was o.k.

Submitted by Colin001 on Sat, 10/27/2007 - 12:37pm. Learning PlacesHey everyone!! . . . .
Today, during our learning lab sesssion, we split into groups and did several activities. The most memorable was an activity similiar to that of the "childs game" telephone. Everyone in the group, accept for the storyteller and the lister, left the room. While the other group members were outside a rather lenghthy lol story was told. Once the story was completely told, the listener then had to tell the same story to another group member. By the time all the group members told the story, many important details were left out/twisted around etc . . This activity was supposed to show us(yes teens) the importance of active listening and note taking. It ddid just that. I liked it . . . . . :^)
